The WCBUA will once again be holding a certification class for new umpires. If you know of anyone that may be interested please pass this along to them. Please keep in mind that it is WCBUA policy if a member refers 2 candidates that successfully complete and remain a member in good standing through June 1st , the referring member will have his 2027 membership dues waived.

 Classes will be held on October 21, 23, 28 & 30 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the West Harrison Senior Center (251 Underhill Ave.) Successful completion will certify the candidate to umpire high school baseball games in Westchester and Putnam Counties.

    Cost for the class is $50 for the online Ref Reps course and $150 for the four nights. This will include rule books and 2026 membership dues. The Ref Reps 3 hour online course will introduce the candidate to the fundamentals of umpiring by using the concepts of the rule book. The in person sessions will focus on common sense techniques and applications of the rules and game management.
